FAQs
The AeroPress coffee maker is a compact, lightweight, and versatile manual coffee press that brews smooth, full-flavoured coffee in under two minutes. Loved by coffee enthusiasts, it’s perfect for home use, travel, and camping. Unlike bulky coffee machines, the AeroPress is portable and easy to clean, making it an ideal on-the-go coffee solution.
The AeroPress coffee press uses air pressure to force hot water through ground coffee and a filter, extracting rich, smooth coffee.
The AeroPress Go is a more compact, travel-friendly version of the original AeroPress coffee maker. It includes a built-in mug and lid, making it even more convenient for coffee lovers on the move. Both models deliver the same smooth and rich coffee, but the AeroPress Go is designed for ultimate portability.
For the best AeroPress coffee, use a medium-fine grind, similar to table salt. A finer grind enhances extraction for a stronger cup, while a coarser grind results in a lighter brew. Pre-ground coffee for AeroPress is available, but for the freshest taste, grinding your own beans is recommended.
Making AeroPress coffee is easy:
- Add a filter, rinse with hot water, then place ground coffee in the AeroPress.
- Pour hot water (85-95°C) and stir.
- Leave to brew for 1min 30sec, insert the plunger and press slowly.
For a richer brew, try the inverted method or experiment with different brewing techniques.
Choose between AeroPress paper filters (for a clean, crisp taste) or AeroPress metal filters (for a fuller-bodied coffee with more oils). Reusable metal filters are eco-friendly and reduce waste, making them a great choice for sustainability-conscious coffee lovers.
While the AeroPress does not make true espresso (which requires high pressure), it can brew a more concentrated style of coffee.
For optimal extraction, use water between 85-95°C (185-203°F). Cooler water results in a smoother cup, while hotter water enhances extraction but can cause bitterness.
Tip: Using a temperature-controlled kettle can help maintain the perfect brewing temperature.
Absolutely! The AeroPress is one of the best portable coffee makers on the market. It’s lightweight, durable, and doesn’t require electricity, making it perfect for camping, travel, and even office use. The AeroPress Go is specifically designed for coffee on the move.
